Discover San Carlos City: 10.9 Restobar and Zen's
If you are from a bigger city like Iloilo or Manila perhaps, you'll be amazed how come that there are cities like Canlaon and San Carlos which are in fact cities but doesn't actually look like it. Well anyway, Tita Nening brought us to one of the best restaurants in the city of San Carlos, 10.9 Restobar. The owner is one of her good friends and they do really serve delicious food here are very affordable prices.
As we enter the restaurant, we were actually amazed at the tables and chairs inside. They did look very expensive and it seemed that the management spent a lot for them because they look like they are made from expensive wood and marble. But I guess that was not the case since it would be too much capital expenditure for a restaurant in a small city. We went here for lunch and the place was packed even on a weekday.
I forgot the name of the dishes but we had this soup and fried chicken with oriental sauce, individual servings of rice and a bottle of coke for the 5 of us. Tita paid only about 800-900 pesos for our lunch. You can't eat that much and pay that less if you were in Iloilo.
Finny and I accompanied Tita for her transactions at the only mall in San Carlos, Gaisano City. Afterwards we headed to Zen's, located inside the mall as well, for snacks. Tita said that if you want to have a taste of Ilonngo food in San Carlos, this is the best place to go. She also said that the owner is from Iloilo that's why they serve authentic Ilonggo flavors. Anyway, they had molo soup and batchoy while Finny and I only had drinks since we were so full from the lunch we had earlier. This time my nephew and niece came with us. They study at the nearby catholic private school.
There isn't really that much to do or to go to in San Carlos but it was a nice experience though. At least we have set foot at another new place in the Negros Island.
