Discover San Antonio Village, Makati City: BON Bahnmi

I love watching travel and food channels. There was one time when I watched an episode about the famous Vietnamese baguette in a Jonathan Phang's show where they tackled famous food items and restaurants in Vietnam. It was one hot, sunny day when Arianne and I looked for an apartment to live in while we are working in Makati City. It was a really hot day and we were a bit hungry for snacks and refreshment. Then, we passed by this little sandwich shop and decided to try it. 

They make your choice of sandwich upon order and there a variety of sauce to choose from.

Their menu consists of:

Traditional Bahnmi

 - Pork lean paste

 - Sated shredded meat

 - Pig's head paste

 - Boiled meat

 - Jambon

 - Bonbahnmi special pate

 - Mayonnaise

We ordered the Roast Pork Bahnmi and Artichoke Tea. The sandwich was delicious, filling and crispy while the artichoke tea was sweet and tastes healthy (if you know what I mean ;)). The Vietnamese owners manage the shop itself and that just adds to the authenticity of this sandwich. I'd like to try all their sandwiches and while writing this entry I crave for it too. The location though is somewhere that you have to purposely go to and that is somehow inconvenient for me. But I'd love to come again if I have time.
